Book Meme
Inspired by Esther and the fact that I just had to get 2 more bookcases to encompass our fast growing library.
A book that made you cry: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
A book that scared you: The latter end of the Harry Potter series. Books 5-7 were definitely darker. I did enjoy the ending though, and I did find this cartoon amusing.
A book that made you laugh: Marley and Me by John Grogan.
A book that disgusted you: The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger. I thought it might be worth the read, but I got disgusted by the profanities.
A book you loved in elementary school: Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards. I still own this and have it saved on a top shelf.
A book you loved in middle school: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.
A book you loved in high school: Emily's Quest by L.M. Montgomery.
A book you hated in high school: A Separate Peace by John Knowles. I think because I read this right after I watched Dead Poets Society, which I despise!!
A book you loved in college: The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery. My all-time favorite that I still pull out when I need to be comforted.
A book that challenged your identity: Good News about Sex and Marriage by Christopher West. I was surprised by views that I held that I THOUGHT were in line with Church teaching, but actually are not. Yikes! Glad to have straightened those out.
A series that you love: The Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Your favorite horror book: I'm not big on Horror, but any of V.C. Andrews' books get me.
Your favorite science fiction book: Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis.
Your favorite fantasy: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Your favorite mystery: Father Brown Mysteries by G.K. Chesterton.
Your favorite biography: St. Francis by Omer Englebert.
Your favorite "coming of age" book: The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.
Your favorite classic: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
Your favorite romance book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Your favorite book not on this list: Brave New Family by G.K Chesterton.

Wow. I would like to read a lot of those... what is the "blue castle" about? Is it too hard for me?
Good list! I'm glad you wrote about The Devil Wears Prada as I have been interested in checking out both the book and the movie. Now I think I will skip it. Mahalo.
