A Simple Woman's Daybook

My Heart's at Home Daybook~ October 22
***
Outside My Window ...is a beautiful sunny afternoon; still too warm for my tastes though.

***
Towards a daily rhythm ... Pearl is getting better with her naps and nightime sleeping. We still struggle here and there, but she is doing so much better.

***
I am thankful for ...that rhythm. I do better with more routine days. I'm venturing out for some errands, but we stick close to home for the most part.

***
From the kitchen ...I just finished my lunch of turkey and provolone with honey mustard and a pickle on white bread, accompanied by a pear and carrots. This afternoon's snack will be slice of pumpkin bread and a cup of coffee. For Dinner: Yummy soup made with leftover steak and veggies. Thinking of picking up some bread as a side. Would make it but I'm baked out after making 3 loaves of pumpkin bread and 2 zucchini loaves.

***
To live the liturgy...DH and I have started back with praying the Liturgy of the Hours now that we have some sleep under our belts.

***
I am wearing ...olive green pants and navy blue top. I'm about 10 lbs. over my pre-pregnancy weight which is no big deal except that I'm too small for my maternity clothes and a tad too big for my regular wardrobe. I don't want to purchase clothes for the interim, so I'm stuck with a small selection I'm rotating through.

***
I am creating ...Christmas gift lists. Organized by person and stores to seek out best deal on gift ideas.

***
Towards a real education ...I'm purusing homseschool curriculums to develop a sense of what I'm looking for.

***
Bringing beauty to my home ...Hung our Autumn wreath on the door, massive cleaning spree on Monday, cleaning up clutter, getting bags ready to donate to local thrift store, baking Autumn favorites which smell delicious.

***
I am reading ...A Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola, Mother Angelica by Raymond Arroyo, and Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne (okay, that one is for Pearl)

***
I am hoping ...
for a great time at a retreat this Saturday. I'm bringing Pearl along with for the day, so many hopes that she does well.

***
Around the house ... is laundry. I have a clean pile of diapers ready to be folded and put away.

***
One of my favorite things ...Listening to classical music while enjoying a cup of coffee and folding clean laundry. I feel so at peace.

***
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
Pick up a few things from the store for dinners and this weekends visit from the in-laws, library visit to exchange books, and some exploratory Christmas shopping--need to check two stores to see which has the better deal.

***
Here is a picture thought I am sharing~

She is becoming more and more a smiley girl:)
