In Loving Memory

Ann was born June 16, 1923 to Bill and Katie (Holtz) Heidecker at Gladstone, ND. Ann was just 6 months old when her mother died. She lived in Dickinson, ND with her aunts, Barb and Elsie Heidecker. Ann graduated from Gladstone High School in 1942 and met Frank Brost. They were married January 24, 1946. She was preceded in death by Frank in November, 1976.

She is survived by her 8 children, 27 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Ann's life was one of service to others. Each of the 81 family members felt her individual caring attention. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and lovingly celebrating the birthdays of her 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Altar Society, Stanley Toastmasters, Bethel Home Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, volunteer at Stanley Elementary School, and an RSVP Volunteer.

Gram was an amazing woman who truly lived hospitality. She was constantly giving of herself to everyone around her. There are so many stories to share but perhaps the one that touched me the most is one that happened in her last days. My uncle came to visit and having had recent back surgery was walking stiffly. Gram could hardly stand due to being so weak, but she offered her chair to him. In her own discomfort and pain, she was still thinking of others.

May the Angels welcome you through the Gates, Gram!!!
