The Simple Woman's Daybook: Post-Retreat Edition

Outside My Window ... Off and on rain today with some strong thunderstorms predicted.

***

I am listening to... whir of the fan and outside car noise.

***

To Live the Liturgy...Daily Mass on Wednesday with our Parish.

***

To be Fit and Happy...I started using the elliptical at our Complex's gym this past week. She's a beast, but it feels good afterwards.

***

I am thankful for...the finding of a diamond from my engagement ring! I noticed it missing on Friday and was really feeling down about it since I had no idea when I had lost it. DH and Pearl started looking and found it by my rocking chair. So now it's in a little baggie with the ring awaiting a trip to get re-set.

***

From the kitchen ...

I am menu planning for the week as we are expecting lots of company. I need to check a store flyer and see what I can add in from the sales to make some great meals.

***

I am wearing...green polo and navy blue skirt

***

I am creating ...a list of what needs to be done before people arrive.

***

I am reading... God Never Blinks by Regina Brett.

***

I am pondering...how to create more order in my home. Specifically more de-cluttering. I realize that I am a very visual person and if thinks look nice and tidy I tend to be more peaceful throughout the day.

***

I am hoping for...a little more energy. I feel like I'm fighting the beginnings of a bug. Either that or the gloomy weather is keeping me down.

***

On Keeping Home...DH and I have been discussing what needs to get done for our Condo. Mainly the floors: what materials to use? Also how to fix the countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. Hmm. On another note, our container garden looks great! We have two peppers growing right now with 3 more buds visible. Basil and parsley are holding up though I suspect I was over watering them. Tomato plant is getting big and looks to flower soon.

***

One of my favorite things ...1) that this past week is over! Leading up to a retreat is never good. It always seems like everything that could go wrong does. However, it means that the retreat will be excellent:) 2) getting more things free from the pharmacy for my donation bag!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:

Gosh Nicole -- I need to recruit you to come declutter my house! I find I have way more peace and sanity when I declutter too -- so true. I just don't seem to be so good at it lol!
